This song was originally written for the new movie "Secretariat" and is sang by AJ Michalka. When Anna and I heard it, we immediately fell in love and wanted to learn it. So we did.
It was first our mom's idea for us to make it a Christian song by changing some of the words. As soon as Anna and I started it literally took about 15-20 minutes to finish it. It just came to us. The song fit the two of us like a glove. We wanted to share the lyrics with you.
It's Whose You Are
It's not the price, it's not the game
It's not the score, it's not the fame
Whenever roads look way to far, it's not what you have
It's Whose you are
It's not how fast, it's not how far
It's not who cheers, it's Whose you are
In the darkest night, live in the Son,
Jesus Christ, He is the One
It's never the glory, It's never the score
It's not about seeing who's less and whose more
So when you've found out Whose helped you this far
You'll know it's not how much you have, it's Whose you are
You lose the world, then be Christ's star
It's not too late, be who you are
Whenever roads look way to far, it's not what you have
I'm sorry that's been so long since we've posted. Gosh...almost a month. We're slacking. Haha! So, I thought I'd give you a little update on things around here. :)
I (Katie) have a new job at our county's public library. I love it! School is in full swing. I'm in my last year of high school and taking two more college courses. Life is very busy!
Zach: He's still working as a computer tech for a small shop downtown and also works a few hours a week for our aunt. He's taking two college courses and is in his sophomore year of high school.
Anna: She's baby-sitting for a family at our church almost 5 days a week. She's started her freshman year of high school and seems to be enjoying being a high school student.
The three of us also have started helping out at one of the local middle schools. We've been doing little Bible studies and playing music for the FCA group. It's a lot of fun! We'll be posting photos of that soon, hopefully.
Well, that's all for now. Good night, dear readers.
We recently reorganized our band room...switched some things around and such so we could have more space. It turned out real nice so we thought we'd share some photos of the finished product with you.
What do you think? We tried to kind of make it our own. This is the place where we practice and spend most of our time playing music.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Have a great weekend! :)
Yesterday we had the opportunity to play at a mission center here in our town with our music teacher. It was a lot of fun! Here are some photos our dad took:
This post will be full of photos of the amazing time we had at Faith Worship Center last week. We were so blessed to have the opportunity to go and worship with the members of this church.
Happy Father's Day everyone! So we did the traditional waking up Dad while he is sleeping and fed him breakfast! He enjoyed it I think.
Make sure you thank your father, grandfather, or someone who was like a father to you. Thank them for being there, and not giving up. Because we all know that parenthood is always a hard and challenging thing. Hope you have a wonderful Father's Day!
Hey, Zach here. I know there are families traveling and going to vacation. But let's not forget the real meaning of Memorial Day. We are remembering our troops who have gone before us and the ones currently serving. They are our heroes! Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day.
Hey this is Zach. 24/7's prayers go out to all the people who are effected by the tornadoes. Especially the people of Joplin, Missouri. There are hundreds of people who lost homes and loved ones. Here is a link where you can help the people affected by this disaster,http://donate.worldvision.org/
Zach loves this new song by The Afters. We want to learn it soon so we thought we'd put up here, so you can enjoy it too.
You lift me up with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up Waiting for the sunrise Waiting for the day Waiting for a sign That I’m where you want me to be You know my heart is heavy And the hurt is deep But when I feel like giving up You’re reminding me That we all fall down sometimes But when I hit the ground You lift me up when I am weak Your arms wrap around me Your love catches me so I’m letting go You lift me up when I can’t see Your heart is all that I need Your love carries me so I’m letting go You lift me up with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up I know I’m not perfect I know I make mistakes I know that I have let you down But you love me the same And when I’m surrounded When I lose my way When I’m crying out and falling down You are here to Lift me up when I am weak Your arms wrap around me Your love catches me so I’m letting go You lift me up when I can’t see Your heart is all that I need Your love carries me so I’m letting go I can see the dawn is breaking I am feeling overtaken with your love With your love I don’t know what I can offer In this moment I surrender to your love To your love You lift me up when I am weak Your arms wrap around me Your love catches me so I’m letting go You lift me up when I am weak Your arms wrap around me Your love catches me so I’m letting go You lift me up when I can’t see Your heart is all that I need Your love carries me so I’m letting go I can see the dawn is breaking I am feeling overtaken with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up with your love You lift me up
Has anybody heard Jamie Grace's new song "Hold Me"? I'm pretty much in love with it. ;) If you have a sec, watch her music video to the song. It's great!
Mother is just a simple word yet it's especially dear... And it seems to mean much more with each passing year... Each word of Love and Affection describes you mother... It's a word that's filled with love, a word that reflects everything that's wonderful - Wonderful just like you. --Anonymous
Mom, I loved you yesterday, I love you tomorrow and everyday. You were there for me my first day of school, to hold my hand and give me courage to go. You listened to me when I needed to talk, you talked to me when I needed to listen. You let me grow and learn from my own mistakes. You never left my side when I was feeling down, I knew you would be there to pick me up. I wish there was a way I could repay all the things you have done for me, but there's nothing great enough to repay the greatest mother of all. --Anonymous
Our grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins all came to church with us and then came over to our house. We had an egg hunt for the little kids and then had lunch together. It was a fun time!
1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”8 Then they remembered his words.
We wanted to share a new song we've been working on with you all. It's called "One True God" by NewSong. We went to the Winter Jam concert and heard it and knew that 24/7 had to sing this amazing song! We're in the process of scheduling a church in May and this song is already in the line up. ;)
Wanted to let all you great followers know that we won't be posting on here for a little bit. Our mom (and manager ;-) ) is sending us on a technology break.
No computer.
{not our photo}
And no phones.
{not our photo}
But we will be back soon! No worries! It's only a two week break.
So we will see you...in two weeks. (Sorda.) ;-) 'Til then! Bye.
So this is the new addition to the band. It's so much fun to plug it in and be loud! Haha! ;)
By the way, the music video is coming soon (hopefully)! Zach is trying to figure out what format it has to be (or something like that) in order to put it on here. Anybody know anything about that sorda stuff?
We've really been focusing over the past couple weeks on making all of our older songs really good and changing them up a bit. Like adding some tabs here or there or changing up the arrangement. It's a lot of fun! We're going to, hopefully, take some videos of us playing/ singing and post 'em on here. So be on the look-out.
Also, we're in the process of making our first music video with our music teacher to one of the songs we wrote. It's almost done and looking great! Look out for that too. :)
Our dad is a professional photographer and all of us agreed we needed some new band pictures. So, one Saturday we scheduled a little photo shoot. Here's some of our favorites we took that day. :-)
This picture, along with the one in the header, we took outside...and it was about 25 degrees. Not joking! Haha!
Love this one!
So, what do you think? Which ones are your favorites?
